Will AppleCare fix a dented Macbook Pro?

I'm a college student and I carry my laptop everywhere I go. I recently noticed a dent on the side of my laptop and it's really annoying me because it dented in the side making the top of that side pushed out allowing me to see inside the computer from above. But only a little and it doesn't affect my use of the laptop. I just wanted to know if I could take it into the Apple Store and get it repaired or something. I don't need a new one. I just hate when my things get scratched or dented. So will they fix it for free with my already purchased Appl Care? Or do I have to pay to fix this problem?

  1. Bottom line: Damage caused by accident is not covered. Most warranties exclude accidental damage. Be happy that it still works :-)

    Here is how to find if this is covered or not. You can read it for yourself here:

    Links about Apple Care: The fine print:

    The meat of the Apple Care document that describes the Terms and Conditions (what is and isn’t covered)
    ”http://www.apple.com/legal/applecare/appgeos.html’

    Inside this document you will find what is NOT covered:

    b. Limitations The Plan does not cover:

    (ii) Damage to the Covered Equipment caused by accident, abuse, neglect, misuse (including
    faulty installation, repair, or maintenance by anyone other than Apple or an Apple Authorized
    Service Provider), unauthorized modification, extreme environment (including extreme
    temperature or humidity), extreme physical or electrical stress or interference, fluctuation or
    surges of electrical power, lightning, static electricity, fire, acts of God or other external causes;

  2. Unfortunately….its a cosmetic problem, not a performance/functionality problem, Apple Care will not cover that. Sorry :(
