Broken Macbook screen – repair or replace?

I accidently broke my boyfriends macbook. I was picking it up in the motion of like putting a book under your arm to take it into the next room to write something on it, when I didnt notice the desk chair right there and snagged the mac on it, in turn causing it to be knocked loose from my clutch, and drop to the floor. I've seen macs take a beating, even my MacBookPro has had an accident or two. So when I picked it up I thought nothing of it, then I saw the screen and gasped. It's trashed. Just shattered lines. I guess all I can do is try to save the memory and replace the mac right?
I bought him a new 09 macbook pro. 13'' like he had before. Only this is a pro and has snow leopard. w00t. Its better than my 15'' 08 macbook pro.. and NO I will NEVER buy a piece of crap Dell with Windows. Microsoft SUCKS!
Just replace the screen, everything else should be fine. Do not let anyone except Apple repair it. It may be more money but it will be done right and will have a warranty.
That screen can not be repaired, but it can be replaced. They can do it for you at the apple store for a smaller fortune or…
if you are felling frisky, you can do it yourself. It is not as hard as you might think but you will need a couple of tools; jewelers screwdriver set, pliers, and a grounding strap to be safe so that you don’t damage other components with ESD (electro-static discharge).
On ebay, you can buy parts-computers and even new parts like LCD screens. I have done it for phones and ipods and having taken my macbook apart I know that it is not as hard to that screen as some of the phones I have done. just search ebay "parts screen [insert computer name]"
