Have I damaged my MacBook hard disk?

I have a Macbook, the 2007 model

You have to wait a few moments for the indicator light to start pulsing before you pick it up and carry it, otherwise you lose data or the hard disk acts up.

My friend picked it up, without knowing to wait for the light to start pulsing, and carried it around for a few minutes ...

Everything seems to be working ok, but how can I check for sure so I don't get any suprises later?

  1. I believe you can open up disk utility in the utilities folder, it should run some diagnostics.

    You should be fine though, I close my lid all the time, and put it into my backpack and the lights not blinking yet. If you were to drop it or hit it then you might be in trouble, but moving it around wont do much…
