Fix my MacBook Pro battery or buy new?

its my macbook pro OS X version 10.5.8. i charge it fully but when i unplug it, it only lasts for 20 minutes before dying and shutting down my computer. i heard wrapping it in foil and putting in the fridge can recharge the cells but im not sure if that is true or not. is there another way to recharge the cells/battery? the warranty is expired so a whole new one costs 9.

  1. You can try finding a service that will rebuild the battery. I don’t think the battery type in the Macbook is rebuildable, however.

  2. Sorry, but not only has the warranty expired, you battery has too!
Bite the bullet and buy a new one. When a laptop battery dies it is dead and cannot be revived.
And a word of caution…..don’t mess with it as they can explode. For real!
You can probably find a cheaper battery on NewEgg.com.
If you had the size of the Macbook I could give you a better link, but here is the NewEgg website.
