Macbook Pro has issues after liquid spill – logic board?

I have a 17" Macbook Pro 2.4ghz (last model before recent update). I have had this laptop for about two years now and never had an issue. Recently I spilled vitamin water on the keyboard, but quickly dried it out and when I got home I took every key off and cleaned everything the best I could. Everything was going well until two days ago when my computer completely froze up while on Skype. I was forced to do a force shutdown and when I turned it back on I was presented with a few issues. It was telling me that no airport card was installed, I had no options to change or adjust volume (no volume at all and volume keys won't work), and the left side USB drives won't work but the right will. I plugged in my ethernet wire and can connect to the internet that way. All other functions on the laptop are working properly. I reseated the Aiport Card and checked all connections. I researched and did EVERY POSSIBLE reset offered from PRAM to SMC and a few others. Nothing works so I inserted the apple CD, did a scan and I received the code "4SNS/1/40000000: TWOP". Searching for answers on the net have prooved useless and when I called apple they said it was most likely my logic board. I just want to know if anyone has every had this problem before and if it's just a logic board replacement to fix. I can do all the work myself so I'll save on labor. Either way, I was so frustrated with not having my pro that I ordered the new model last night so there is no rush on this question but an answer would help me a lot when it comes time to fix it. I don't think the airport card and USB drives can both just go out so I'm leaning towards a shorted logic board from the liquid. Any ideas will help so I don't waste close to 1,000 dollars on a new LB. Also, is it possible to only short out a section of the logic board to kill only three functions like this? Thanks a lot for reading and I'm praying for some help here.
BTW, yesterday I ordered a the new 15" unibody Macbook Pro fully loaded so I feel as if I will use this as a learning tool in changing out the logic boards. Now if I can only find a decent deal online under 800 dollars :-X

...how it works and
Yes that is possible. You probably shorted out that part of the board and it may end up shorting out the rest of the computer if you keep using it. There is probably still moisture under the keyboard.
Its probably going to end up with you buying a new Mac.
Sorry, dont drink or eat around your computers. One of my biggest pet peeves.
GOOD CHOICE ON A NEW LAPTOP!
Same one I have its awesome!
I think you should replace the Keyboard it is no sweat on most Laptops but you are talking about apple here so I dont know how much it costs to get a replacement.
Or dissasmple it again and use a Har dryer on low heat to try out all components.
Good luck and God Bless
It’s the logic board. And with liquid spills, you never know what kind of damage can come from it. I’m assuming the spill happened toward the upper left area, based on what you’re saying. But yes, I’d say almost definitely the logic board. Also, replacing the logic board on that, even for someone who’s done it dozens and dozens of times, still takes like 90 minutes (if you’re real quick, maybe 70 minutes from open to close). you’ve never done it, don’t know how, and/or don’t have the manual, plan on at least 3-4 hours, provided you don’t lose screws. It’s really not an easy thing to replace. You’re going to be looking at removing roughly 4-5 dozen different screws, each one different lengths, and if you put the wrong screw in the wrong place, you can short out your new logic board.
Make sure you know what you’re getting into. Sounds like you haven’t done this before…even though you may have some technical background. This is pretty standard fare for an Apple technician (I get roughly 4-5 calls a week about liquid spills, it’s almost ALWAYS the logic board).
Taking apart a Mac laptop is NOT like taking apart a PC. Macs are much more fragile inside, and the screws are almost always way smaller.
