MacBook Pro with Water Damage: My son purchased this computer in fall 2008 for college. When he came home for a school break our new cat (who mysteriously disappeared soon thereafter) knocked over a glass of water onto it while it was plugged in. He immediately shut it down, took out the battery and put it in a box with warm air blowing into it for three to four hours. when he replaced the battery it booted up and was running fine until he tried to plug it back in. The charger light would not light up and the battery would not charge. He used the last bits of battery power copying all his data. Apple wants to much money to fix it (new mother board) and we can't use it without the ability to charge the battery. Hope you can use the parts or maybe fix it. Specs: 2.53MHz 4GB RAM 320G HD- 5400rpm (This is a new drive out of the Macbook pro he bought as a replacement. It has Snow Leopard loaded and has never been used) Superdrive Glossy Screen Removable battery No charger or disks included Unit is in excellent cosmetic condition. No scratches or dings. Slight wear on rubber foot pads. Keyboard is not worn. Model A1286 S/N W884011D1GN (I think this is right, but the print is pretty small for my eyes) I will pack it in the box that Apple sent when we sent it to them for repair (well padded) Item is sold "as-is" and I cannot guarantee anything except the specifications. I was mad at her for a while, but I got over it. If you are not happy, return the item to me in the same condition you got it and I will refund your purchase price.
