Is the MacBook Air worth the money?

I am finally upgrading from my old 12 inch powerbook to a new intel mac. I want to either get a macbook (unibody) or a macbook air. The question I have is if I can upgrade the hard drive in the air through a third party mac repair store. I've heard that the hard drives are sealed in and one of a kind. Is this true?
If I can not upgrade the hard drive, I may get a macbook instead.
Thanks!

...how it works and
the macbook air is not upgradable and costs a lot more for the same specs on a regular macbook
I have had Macs since 1992 and had a 3rd party repair my Mac and it was the first and last time. Now that Apple Stores are near me, I only go there [which is rare]. If you cannot get a big enough hard drive for the Air then go with a MacBook. You can always get a humongous external hard drive and use them together.
I really don't think that it's worth all the money, and I'm a HUGE apple fan.
