Replace MacBook logic board or buy a new MacBook?

The logic board to my white macbook of 2 years is damaged ( probably because I dropped it twice on the cement freshman year). It has microsoft office (which I need for school) and it's been upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. My college computer services will replace the logic board for 0 (includes price of the logic board and labor). Should I just repair my Macbook or buy a new computer. The thing is if I buy a new computer, I would probably buy a dell or HP that is around 0-650 without tax. I know these computers are less durable than a Mac. On top of that I'd be getting the minimum accessories on my computer. I also would have to invest in buying virus software and buy Microsoft Office. I think it's better to just repair my Macbook. At least I know it's a durable computer and has everything I need on it already. However, my cousin who works at best buy says it's not worth it and just to buy a new computer. What should I do?

Why don’t you buy a netbook?
they seem pretty nice, and are really portable. For me, the only downside with a netbook is that the screen is small.

I personally would buy a new computer. Sadly laptops don’t last as long as we’d all like, and after 2 years, you’re only going to continue having more problems with it.
Mac’s are the most crappy machines when it comes to "durability".

Buy a regular windows machine, and if you must…. install OSX on it.

The truth is that no one makes a laptop that is going to take many falls to the floor without breaking.
As for repairing or replacing, I say repair the Mac. If you were buying a 2 year old MacBook with the same specs, you would pay more than what this repair is going to cost. If you take the advise of getting a PC laptop, you will pay more because you will have to also buy the Windows version of Office, which will be $150 (Student version).
The repair is the cheaper route.
Its good to buy new computer, but you should ask other repair shop about cost to repair it. if it saves your half of price then why should go for new one. i have repaired my desktop at very cheap price from ‘http://awww.sacatech.com‘ , you can try them for your computer.
