Should I buy a MacBook keyboard cover?

Hi, I have a regular white macbook that I was given recently. I love it to death but the keyboard is getting dirty. So I have been considering buying a keyboard cover, but I'm unsure since I don't know if it will effect my typing. So if I could find out if keyboard covers are worth buying and which one is best that would be great!
