Is water OK to clean my MacBook Pro screen?

I have a MacBook Pro (Antiglare screen) and it has some dust spots all over the screen. Well, they are probably formed by accumulated dust. I tried cleaning with a soft cloth but if I don't scrap them, they don't completely come off. I'm afraid of damaging my screen doing that so I was wondering if i could use a bit of water to dissolve and wipe them with the cloth. What do you think?

  2. You can wipe gently with a soft, cotton cloth to screen, have some liquid solution that can be found in your kitchen like water with vinegar or water with isopropyl alcohol can do the trick of cleaning your computer screen make sure to put only enough amount to the cloth.

  3. water plus electronics = no no, unless the water is cooling and is sealed. buy one of thos screen cleaners come with a no drip solution and microfiber wash cloth that wont scratch.

  4. Computer screens are best cleaned with a cloth, like a nappy or face washer type material(cotton?) and wetting a 2 or 3inch area then folding up into a square, squeeze hard so the small amount of water is spread into more of the cloth.
This ensures it is not ‘wet’, it is just damp.
Then unfold and make a new square by folding again but with the area you wet originally at the front, the area you will wipe with.
Do horizontal wipes across the screen and then vertical.
Unfold and refold to a dry area and do same process.
If you have any smears of dirt left on the screen re wet a new area and repeat last procedure.
It should come up like new.

The reason for the folding and squeezing is because water is bad for PCs, damp is perfect for screens.

Manufacturers suggest this damp cloth type of method.
Do not use a Plasma TV type cleaning cloth as they are not suited and are designed for dry use.

    Goodluck
